Take a peek inside Tinder Founder’s brand new $35 million Bel-Air mansion.
In the gorgeous homes series, we have this luxury Bel Air residence that was recently purchased by Tinder co-founder Sean Rad. It belonged to late and retired Hollywood actress Yvette Mimieux and was bought by Rad for a whopping $35 million! Located on an island in Bel-Air, the property comprises two separate but side-by-side houses on two plots with two different addresses. The largest house was built in 1928 by architect Mark Daniels. It is aptly christened “Il Sogno” – Italian for “the dream” and is essentially designed as a Tuscan villa-style mansion with 10,600 square feet of interior space.
The house was then remodeled in 1979 by renowned interior designer Kalef Alaton. Currently it features hand-painted ceilings, skylights, antique plaster walls, stone fireplaces and crystal chandeliers, as well as a sky-lit library, wine cellar in custom brickwork and a domed fairytale-style master suite.
On the other hand, the smaller house which is right next to it includes a Balinese-style residence of about 5,000 square feet, plus a guest house. Other features include a wrap-around terrace that overlooks the grounds, gardens, statues, cabana, veranda and multiple pools.
The deal was brokered by Linda May of Hilton & Hyland, Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency and Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker Realty, while Mary Fitzgerald and Jason Oppenheim of the Oppenheim Group represented Rad.
In all, the lush resort spans over 1.5 contiguous acres and is about to be renovated according to reports. Can luxury do better than that?
